Check Your Personal Voter Registration Status
The Cook County Clerks Office provides an easy way to check your personal voter registration status and find your local polling place.

Online Voter Registration
The Illinois State Board of Elections provides an online way to register to vote. You need your IL driver’s license/state ID number and the last 4 digits of your social security number.

Request A Mail Ballot
The Cook County Clerks Office provides an online way to request a mail ballot. Alternatively, there’s a form to download, fill out, and mail to the Clerk’s Office.

New! It is now possible for a 16-year old to preregister to vote :

When registering to vote, enter your Drivers License or State ID Number and, after the Citizenship tab, there is a Age Verification tab which states:

Are you currently at least 16 years old? To vote, you must be at least 17 years old on or before the date of the Primary Election and turn 18 on or before the date of the General or Consolidated Election (16 year olds may preregister to vote)

REGISTER TO VOTE

You can vote in upcoming elections if:

You are a United States Citizen.
You are at least 17 years old on or before the date of the Primary Election and turn 18 on or before the date of the General or Consolidated Election (16 year olds may preregister to vote).
You have lived in your election precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day.
You are not be serving a sentence of confinement in any penal institution as a result of a conviction.
You cannot claim the right to vote anywhere else.

Register By Mail

Pick up a form at the library or go to the Cook County Clerks Office to download the registration form and print it out.

If you don’t have these forms of ID, leave blank the sections asking for your driver’s license/state ID number and last 4 digits of your social security number.

Complete the rest of this form and mail it in. Include a copy of any of the Acceptable Forms of ID or bring any of the Acceptable Forms of ID with you the first time you vote.

Register In Person

Visit any Village Hall, library, or the Cook County Clerk’s Office at the Rolling Meadows Courthouse. Bring two of the Acceptable Forms of ID.

Register At Early Voting - OR - On Election Day

Register to vote at all early voting sites. Bring two Acceptable Forms of ID.

Register to vote on election day at your polling place. Bring two Acceptable Forms of ID.

Acceptable Forms of ID to register to vote:

- Passport
- Military ID
- Driver’s License or State ID
- School/Work ID
- Vehicle registration card
- Lease, mortgage or deed
- Credit or debit card
- Social Security card
- Medicare, Medicaid or Insurance card
- Union or professional membership card
- LINK/Public Aid/DHS card
- Illinois FOID card
- The following mail addressed to you:

Bill, School Transcript or Report Card
Bank or Pension Statement
Pay Stub
Utility, Medical or Insurance Bill
Official mail from any government agency

Our Voter Services Activities

Birthday Envelopes:

Every student turning 18 in local high schools receives a gift congratulating them on their right to vote and encouraging them to vote!

Candidate Forums:

LWV-AH-MP-BG hosts impartial forums that are free and open to the public to allow the community to hear directly from candidates in upcoming elections.

Get Out The Vote (GOTV):

Voting is the most powerful way to have your voice heard, to stand up for what matters to you most and to impact the issues affecting you, your community, and the future. Help us to Get Out The Vote!

Mock Elections:

Mock elections are designed to mimic real elections and are used to teach students or new voters about the election process. We help facilitate mock elections at local schools, libraries and, other community organizations.

Stroll to the Polls:

Stroll to the Polls encourages the community to get out and vote by teaming up with local high school students and going door to door to engage with our neighbors.

Voter Registration:

LWV-AH-MP-BG registers voters and conducts voter registrar training throughout the year in partnership with area libraries, places of worship, schools, and other places where individuals gather.
